MAITLIN RAYCROFT OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior right-handed pitcher from Spring, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, March 5 through Sunday, March 11.

Raycroft picked up two victories in the Bulldogs' four-game conference sweep of the University of Dallas. She took a no-hitter into the fifth inning of the late game Friday and finished with a two-hitter. She struck out 14 in the victory. In the 12-1 victory in the series finale, she tossed four innings and struck out six. In the two starts, she struck out 20, walked only three and had an ERA of 0.64.

Raycroft is now 6-0 on the year (second in the SCAC in victories) with a league-leading 56 strikeoiuts and an ERA of 1.67 (third in the SCAC).

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore pitcher Hannah Ortiz of Schreiner picked up two victories in the four game series against Southwestern as the Mountaineers went 3-1 over the weekend. Ortiz pitched two complete games and went 14.0 innings, allowing five runs (three earned) while striking out six and walking no one. First-year pitcher Allie Holbrook of Trinity appeared in three of the Tigers' six games last week, helping her team to a 3-3 overall record that included winning three of four games of a weekend series at Centenary. Holbrook was 2-0 against the Ladies last weekend, striking out nine batters and allowing just three earned runs in 13.0 innings for a 1.62 ERA. She recorded six strikeouts in a series-opening win over Centenary on Friday afternoon.
