LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - League play finished up for the softball teams in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, as all six teams prepare for the upcoming 2018 SCAC Softball Championship.
Texas Lutheran University continued its dominance, taking three games against Centenary College. The fourth was cancelled due to weather, leaving the Bulldogs' conference winning-streak at 39 games until next year. The streak ties the SCAC record. The No. 2 Bulldogs outscored the Ladies 17-3 over the series, only giving up runs in the first contest.
Southwestern University picked up a series win over the University of Dallas, going 3-1 on the road. The Pirates dominated offensively in the first two contest, outscoring UD 21-3, but the Crusaders came back strong the following day, earning a win in the third game of the series, 8-5. Southwestern closed out the series with a 7-6 win, where they scored twice in the top of the seventh to secure the victory.
