DAVID CHING OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSIY, a sophomore midfielder from Keller, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, October 26th through Sunday, November 1st.
Ching scored a career-high three goals and netted the game-winner in the Bulldogs' 5-2 road win over Southwestern. Ching scored the Bulldogs' first three goals and propelled the team to the eventual No. 4 seed for the upcoming SCAC Championship. Ching scored three goals on five total shots all of which were on goal.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior forward Derrick Horvath of Trinity University netted the game-winning goal at Schreiner on Sunday afternoon, clinching the SCAC regular season championship title for the third-ranked Tigers. Junior Michael Olivares of Southwestern University scored two goals within eight minutes of each other to pull SU even after falling behind 2-0 to TLU. Sophomore forward Thomas Quick of Austin College scored the decisive goal in Austin College's lone game of the week
