Derrick Horvath, Trinity University, Offensive Co-Player of the Week (Week 4)
DERRICK HORVATH OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior forward from Fairview, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Co-Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, September 21st through Sunday, September 27th.

Horvath led the Tigers to a pair of SCAC wins at home last weekend, defeating both Centenary College and Austin College to move up to a tie for third in the SCAC standings.

Horvath netted three goals in the two games, scoring the game-winners in both. He opened the Centenary win with his first goal of the week in the fourth minute, then scored in the eighth minute against Austin College for the eventual game-winner on Sunday. Horvath also opened the second-half scoring for the Tigers on Sunday, beating a pair of defenders inside the 18-yard box to make it 4-0 Tigers.

For the season, Horvath is now tied for the team lead with three goals scored, and his two game-winners this week are good for second among Tiger players.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior midfielder Max Grossenbacher of Colorado College struck for the game-winning goal in both games last week and finished with a two-game hat trick in Texas with five points. In Friday's 3-1 victory at Southwestern, Grossenbacher scored the deciding goal on a penalty kick with 1:25 remaining before halftime, and set up Tim Huettel's insurance tally in the 79th minute. CC's captain improved to 2-for-2 on the season and 5-for-6 for his career from the spot. On Sunday at TLU, Grossenbacher struck with 4:24 remaining in regulation to give the Tigers a 1-0 victory. The senior midfielder lifted a shot over goalkeeper Jonathan Michael from 15 yards out after taking a touch from junior defender Nathan Andersen. It proved to be the sixth GWG of his career. Grossenbacher extended his goal-scoring stream to three games and now leads the Tigers with five goals and 11 points. Senior midfielder Isaac Lopez of Texas Lutheran scored the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 1-0 win over University of Dallas. He finished the week with two shots - both on goal. Sophomore forward Naseem Said of the University of Dallas was part of a UD team that netted a season-best three goals after going 1-1 on the week. Said scored the third goal for the men's soccer squad in a 3-0 win at Southwestern. The netter followed an assist on the previous scoring play to give him a game-high three points. His lone shot of the weekend was on target and produced his first goal of the season.
