Daylon Gordon, Trinity University, Defensive Player of the Week (Week 4)
DAYLON GORDON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior defender from Dallas, Texas has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, September 21st through Sunday, September 27th.

Gordon led Trinity to a pair of SCAC shutouts over the weekend, defeating both Centenary College and Austin College to improve to 3-2 in conference.

In just his second and third starts of the season, Gordon paced a Tiger defense that allowed just four shots per game over the weekend, and just one second-half attempt in each game.

Gordon also picked up an assist on the second goal of the Austin College victory, marking his first point of the season.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior center Soren Frykholm of Colorado College helped CC record its second clean sheet of the season with Sunday's 1-0 victory over Texas Lutheran. On Friday, he was part of a defensive effort that allowed just one goal in a 3-1 win at Southwestern. Frykholm played all 90 minutes in each match as the Tigers limited both Southwestern and Texas Lutheran to fewer than 10 total shots and only two shots on goal. CC has held seven of its nine opponents to less than 10 shots in a game and six opponents to fewer than five shots on frame. During the last six games, Colorado College has not allowed more than one goal in a game and lowered its team goals-against average from 1.76 to 1.04. Additionally, Frykholm ranks fifth on the team with two goals and four points. Senior goalkeeper Jonathan Michael of Texas Lutheran allowed just one goal in 180 minutes in goal and led TLU to a 1-1 SCAC record last week. He made six saves in the win over Dallas, including one late in the match to preserve a 1-0 lead. He added seven saves in the 1-0 loss to Colorado College. Junior goalkeeper Tino Gamueda of the University of Dallas allowed one goal in 180 minutes, as the UD men's soccer team went 1-1 this past week. He combined for nine saves, including five in the Crusaders' 3-0 shutout versus Southwestern. Gamueda stopped all shots on frame he faced, which included a penalty kick in a tied match in the first half. It was the third shutout for the keeper this season, all of which have come in the last four matches. His lone goal surrendered was on an early penalty kick to Texas Lutheran in the 21st minute. Gamueda has only allowed two goals to SCAC opponents this year.
