CHAD MARGOTTA OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior goalkeeper from San Antonio, Texas has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches played from Friday, September 11th through Sunday, September 13th.
Margotta led Trinity's fourth-ranked men's soccer team in a pair of wins last weekend, defeating Hardin-Simmons University and the University of Texas-Dallas. Margotta tallied 10 total saves and allowed just one goal in the two games. He recorded a season-high seven saves in Sunday's overtime win over UT-Dallas, facing a total of 20 shots, and allowing just one goal.

Margotta picked up three saves in Friday afternoon's 1-0 win over Hardin-Simmons. For the season, Margotta holds a 0.20 goals-against average, and has recorded 21 saves and four shutouts for Trinity.
The Tigers resume SCAC play this weekend, taking on the University of Dallas and Colorado College on the road. Trinity will be back in San Antonio for a pair of SCAC games against Centenary and Austin College on September 25 and 27.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior goalkeeper, Tino Gamueda of the University of Dallas compiled 200 minutes over two matches last week, including a 110-minute double overtime outing against Colorado College. In the SCAC-opener, the keeper blocked six shots and allowed one goal. Freshman goalkeeper, Joseph Khalaf of Austin College came up big in goal for Austin College as the 'Roos went 2-1 last week, logging 127:20 minutes and surrendering just one goal for a GAA of 0.71, and he added eight saves and a .889 save percentage for the week. Freshman defender, Cam Stopforth of Colorado College came off the bench to record assists on three of Colorado College's four goals this weekend, including two in Sunday's 3-1 win over Wartburg. He also was part of the defensive unit that allowed only one shot during the first half when the Tigers opened a 3-0 lead. Schreiner University, Centenary College, Southwestern University and Texas Lutheran University did not submit nominations.
