KYLE PORTER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior defender from Albuquerque, N.M., has been selected as the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 19 through Sunday, September 25.
Porter led the Tiger defense in recording its
fourth shutout of the season in an 8-0 win over Chapman University
on Saturday.
With Porter’s leadership on the
back line, Trinity’s defense yielded just five total shots in
the game, and no shots on goal in the second half. Additionally,
Porter scored a goal and an assist to also
contribute offensively in the game.
For the season, Porter has scored one
goal and two assists for the Tigers. The defense has recorded four
shutouts, but Saturday was the first in the last four games.
