TYLER GAMMILL OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Austin, Texas, has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for competitions played through Tuesday, April 4th.
Gammill took top honors at the West Region Invitational, leading the Pirates to a second place team finish in the event.
Gammill tied the tournament's lowest round on Tuesday with a 70 (-2). He also posted scores of 73 and 74 through the first 36 holes.
This marks his first individual win of the seasonand his lowest 54-hole score of the year. The Pirates will compete next in the 2017 SCAC Championship in Blanco, Texas April 24-25.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Erik Hamm of the University of Dallas matched a career-low 73 and shot a par +1 to earn his first career collegiate tournament victory on Sunday in Hendrix College dual #4. Freshman Joseph Wolcik of Schreiner University took second place at the West Region Invitational, posting a three round score of 218 (+2). Colin Uecker of Texas Lutheran University finished in a tie for 13th place at the West Region Invitational to lead the Bulldogs. Senior Redmond Lyons of Trinity University finished in a tie for 13th at the West Region Invitational, shooting 78-75-74 for a three-round score of 227.
