BLAKE HARTFORD OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for competitions played through Tuesday, September 13.
Hartford posted an even-par 213 to place third in the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational this week.
He carded a first-round 69, then followed it up with consecutive rounds of 72 to tie for third place, and lead the Mountaineers to a second place finish in his first collegiate competition.
The Mountaineers will take a long break before heading to Destin, Florida for the Golfweek Fall Invitational held October 10-11.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Nathan Haley of Texas Lutheran University finished in sixth place at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational after rounds of 73-68-76 (+4) and led the Bulldogs to a fourth place finish. Junior Travis Hindle of Trinity University finished the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational in 16th place, carding a 219 (+6) for the tournament.
