REDMOND LYONS OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a San Francisco, Calif., has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for competitions played through Tuesday, March 7th.
Lyons rallied in the second round to move up 15 spots to finish in fourth place at the Schreiner Shootout this week.
Lyons fired the tournament's lowest round, 66 (-6), Tuesday, which helped move the Tigers from seventh place to third as a team. Trinity posted a team score of 277 (-11) through the second half of the event.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Kraig Zimmerhanzel of Texas Lutheran University finished the Schreiner Shootout in seventh place, carding a 146 (+2). Blake Hartford of Schreiner University posted round of 74 and 75 to finish in a tie for 14th place, leading the Mountaineers at the event.
