KOLBY KITCHENS OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a freshman pitcher from Center Point, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Monday, March 28th through Sunday, April 3rd.
Kitchens earned his first collegiate win after leading the Mountaineers to a 2-1 victory over #1 Trinity with a complete game, 2 strikeout performance. He allowed just one earned run against the Tigers and stranded 11 runners on base.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore pither Kaleb Kirk of Centenary threw his third complete game of the season to keep the lead in wins in the SCAC this season. Freshman pitcher Cody Rimko of Texas Lutheran allowed just one run and five hits in six innings of work to pick up the pitching victory in the series finale against University of Dallas. Junior pitcher Josh Lewis of Austin College had a strong performance on the mound in an 8-1 win over Southwestern, going 7.0 innings while surrendering just a single unearned run and only two hits. Junior pitcher Dylan McGee of Trinity pitched five shutout innings in his first career start, allowing just three hits, and striking out five Mountaineer hitters
