Dakota Brown, Centenary College, Pitcher of the Week (Week 7)

DAKOTA BROWN OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior pitcher from Franklin, Tenn., has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Monday, March 14th through Sunday, March 20th.

Brown took the mound in relief for a win in game one and three last weekend. In the first game with the game tied in the bottom of the ninth with the winning run for Schreiner at third, he induced a groundout to send the game to extras. He allowed two hits in 2.1 scoreless of innings of work in the game, getting the win when Centenary hit a home run in the top of the 11th (with Brown proving to be the winning run after a walk). Coming in the series finale with the Gents down 6-5 in the third, he got the final out, only to see the Gents score nine runs (against only one for Schreiner) in the next four innings. He also went 3-for-5 from the plate in the game with two RBI's and a run scored.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Pitcher Drew Waller of Texas Lutheran notched two wins and did not allow a run (earned or unearned) in three appearances last week. Senior pitcher Teddy Turner of Trinity University allowed just five hits over seven innings of action, striking out six Crusader hitters, and improving his record to 3-1 on the year.
