William Marshall, Dallas, Pitcher of the Week (Week 10)

WILLIAM MARSHALL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a junior pitcher from Frisco, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Monday, April 4th through Sunday, April 10th.

Marshall was instrumental in both of the Crusaders' victories this weekend, as Dallas claimed a 2-1 series win over Schreiner University. Marshall combined for 8.1 innings out of the bullpen, including a career-high 4.1 on Sunday. The Frisco, Texas, native earned the winning decision in both contests, and blanked the Mountaineers in each outing. Marshall set a career-high, five strikeouts, in Saturday's 10-7 win. He added four punch outs in the 4-1 finale, including three of the final six straight outs the right-hander garnered to secure the series. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore pither Will Preston of Southwestern University allowed only two hits an one earned run over eight innings, while pitching Southwestern to a 4-2 victory over No. 12 Centenary. Freshman pitcher Nathan Malinovsky of Texas Lutheran pitched seven strong innings Friday night and notched the pitching victory against No. 1-ranked Trinity. Senior pitcher Mychael Parish of Austin College struck out seven batters against just one walk and allowed only one hit in 5.1 innings of work to earn the victory over Dallas Christian. Junior Chris Tate of Trinity University pitched a total of five innings last week, allowing seven total hits, but holding the opposition scoreless, and striking out nine batters. Senior outfielder Dakota Brown of Centenary College tossed 6.2 innings of scoreless work against Southwestern last weekend.
