MAX SMITH OF
SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore right-hander
from Forth Worth, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Baseball
Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday March 26 through
Sunday, April 1.
Smith was nearly untouchable on the mound this
week with a 0.64 ERA in 14 innings of action over three
appearances.
He recorded both of Southwestern’s wins this week allowing
two runs, one earned, on nine hits while walking none and striking
out 10.
Against Austin College on Sunday, Smith threw
complete game gem as he struck out seven and scattered seven hits
while allowing just one unearned run in the Pirates’ 2-1
win.
