MATT BURNICK
OF RHODES COLLLEGE, a junior right-hander from
Birmingham, Ala., has been selected the SCAC Baseball
Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday March 12 through
Sunday, March 18.
Burnick threw a nine-inning complete game shutout
in a 6-0 win over Denison in Port Charlotte, Fla. The junior
scattered just six singles in his nine innings of work while
striking out seven while throwing 131 pitches.
For the season, Burnick is 3-1 with a 2.49
ERA in 21.2 innings of work over six appearances while averaging
over 4.5 strikeouts per nine innings pitched.
