LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga.
- All seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's cross country teams were in action this past week as teams made their final preparations in advance of the 2016 SCAC Cross Country Championship.

Southwestern University is hosting this year's conference championship meet which will be contested on Saturday, October 29th at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, Texas.

Three of the seven were at the University of Dallas Invitational where the host school posted the best finish among the trio as the Crusaders scored 100 and finished fourth out of the 10 schools who scored.

Dallas edged fellow SCAC foes Austin College (143) and Schreiner University (251). The 'Roos claimed fifth place while Schreiner was ninth.

Angela Moore boasted the Crusaders best individual time with a personal record of her own. The 20:12.6 was fast enough to give Moore a ninth-place medal and was the junior's second 5K this season to break top ten. Junior Eden Llamas of Austin College paced the 'Roos with an 18th-place finish in a time of 21:16.8. Schreiner freshman Jessica Gaines posted a 34th-place finish in a time of 22:55 to lead the Mountaineers.

At the Southwestern University Invitational, Texas Lutheran University finished second among the five teams that scored - only behind Division I Rice University. The Bulldogs, who scored 40 points, were led by senior Sarah Fritzsche, who ran the 5K course in a time of 20:03 to finish third. Although Southwestern did not field enough runners to score as a team, sophomore Morgan Forteith led the Pirates with a 15th-place indiividual finish, as she crossed the line with a time of 22:59.

Thanks to four runners finishing in the top 10, the Colorado College women captured first place at the Lewis & Clark Invitational Saturday in Portland, Ore. The Tigers scored 27 points, easily outdistancing second-place Southern Oregon, which finished with 59. Once again, senior Leah Wessler led the way for the Tigers. The defending SCAC individual champion finished second by completing the 6K course in 22 minutes, 12.3 seconds.

The Trinity women turned in a solid performances Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational as the Tigers finished in 10th place in the race held at the Lake Breeze Golf Club. Eight of the country's top 35 programs were at the event.

Sophomore Molly McCullough, who ran 40 seconds faster than her time in last year's event, was the Tigers' top runner as she traversed the 6K course in a time of 22:30 to finish 19th among more than 540 competitors.
