JOE STEPHENS
OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLS, a sophomore guard from
Flower Mound, Texas, has been named SCAC Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, January 23 through
Sunday, January 29.
Stephens averaged 17 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5
assists, and 0.5 steals per game while leading Dallas to victories
over Sewanee and Centre last weekend.
In the Crusaders’ 64-61 win over Sewanee on Friday,
Stephens scored 14 points on 5 of 12 shooting
while adding two assists, seven rebounds and connected on the
game-winning 3-pointer from NBA range as time expired to give
Dallas the win.
In Sunday’s 75-66 upset of Centre, Stephens scored 20 points on 7 of 12 shooting while connecting on 4 of 6 shots from 3-point range. He added four rebounds, one assist and one steal in the win.
For the week, Stephens shot 50 percent (12 of 24) from the floor while making 7 of 10 from beyond the arc.
