Kramer Returns to SCAC as Associate Commissioner

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Russell Kramer will return to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and assume the role of Associate Commissioner in an announcement made today by the league office.

Kramer, who worked at the SCAC office from 2008 to 2012, has served the last six years as the Assistant Executive Director of the North Coast Athletic Conference, a NCAA Division III conference based in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio.

"I could not be more excited that Russell has agreed to accept our offer to return to the conference," said SCAC Commissioner Dwayne Hanberry. "He was the first person I hired after taking over as Commissioner in 2008 and it feels like a homecoming of sorts to welcome him back to the fold."

Kramer was hired as the league's Sports Information Assistant immediately following graduation from then SCAC member, Oglethorpe University, where he was a four-year member of the soccer team and worked as a student assistant in the Petrels' Sports Information Office. He was promoted to Director of Communications and New Media the following year.

For the last six years, Kramer has been the Assistant Director of the North Coast Athletic Conference where he has been the face and voice of the conference, telling the stories of countless coaches and student-athletes through his work overseeing the NCAC website, and creating graphics and posts for various publications and social media channels. Kramer created the NCAC podcast series, interviewing award winners, conference coaches and highlighting participants in conference and national championship events.

In addition to his coverage of North Coast teams, Kramer has also been instrumental in the social media coverage around the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving championships, annually producing photos, videos and interviews of the individual swimmers and divers.

"There is no one more experienced or more qualified I could have hired for this position," said Hanberry. "Russell's 10 years of administrative experience in a Division III conference office setting coupled with his knowledge of SCAC policy and procedure will allow him to hit the ground running in July."

Kramer assumes his new role with the league on July 9.
