MADDIE MURPHY OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Friendswood, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run through Saturday, September 21.
Murphy took the individual title among non-Division I runners at the UTSA/Ricardo Romo Classic on Friday evening, and also led Trinity’s women to a team victory for the second time in as many races this season.
Despite running against Division I competition, Murphy was fifth overall 18:31.3 in the 5K race. Her closest competition among non-Division I runners finished 30 seconds behind her, as she took the victory.
