VANESSA MORENO OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from El Paso, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run through Saturday, August 31.
Moreno led the Tiger women in scoring 32
points to beat Division I schools Incarnate Word (39 points) and
UT-San Antonio (49 points) and other schools including SCAC
newcomer Texas Lutheran at Saturday's season-opening meet.
Moreno took the individual win in the 4K race,
picking up where she left off in the 2012 cross country season.
The 2012 SCAC Runner-of-the-Year, Moreno led the
Tigers to last year's conference title - the first for the
program.
