Chelsea Cole, Trinity University, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 4)

CHELSEA COLE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a first-year midfielder from Texarkana, Texas has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for matches played Monday, September 21st through Sunday, September 27th.

Cole led the Tigers to three victories last week, including a pair of SCAC wins over Centenary College and Austin College. The Tiger offense posted its two best offensive performances of the season over the conference weekend.

Cole tallied a total of four goals in the three Tiger wins, scoring at least once in each game. She started off with her first career goal in the win over Mary Hardin-Baylor, then carried that momentum into the weekend. Cole scored twice in a lopsided win over Centenary, then capped the first-half scoring in Sunday's win over Austin.

For the season, Cole is tied for second on the team with her four goals scored, and is fourth with eight total points.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year forward Kyli Harvey of Schreiner helped lead the Mountaineers to a 2-0 SCAC week with a two goals and an assist this week. Both of her goals were game-winners. Junior forward Claudia Trevino of Texas Lutheran scored what turned out to be the game-winner in Friday's 2-0 win over the University of Dallas. Her shot on the extreme right side of the goal went across the the face of the goal and bounced off the far post and into the net. She had two shots and both were on goal.
