MARISSA HUGHES OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a junior defender from Richardson, Texas has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for matches played Tuesday, September 1st through Sunday, September 6th.
Hughes hand a hand in all four goals for the Ladies in a 4-2 win against East Texas Baptist, including the first Centenary hat trick in three years and the first non-Trinity player three-goal game in two seasons.
Hughes scored on every shot she took in the game and the one goal she did not score, the first goal of the game, she added an assist.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore midfielder/defender, Ashley Foster of Schreiner University had a strong week for the Mountaineers with a goal vs. ETBU that assisted in a 3-0 victory. Junior forward, Hannah Homel of Trinity University netted the game-winning goal on Friday night, finishing off a 2-0 start to the season for the sixth-ranked Tiger women's soccer team. Senior forward, Sioned Kirkpatrick of Texas Lutheran University led TLU to a 3-0 start to the 2015 season by scoring two goals and added an assist. She scored the game-winner against East Texas Baptist with a shot in the 11th minute.
