ABIGAIL LOAR
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior forward from
Littleton, Colo., has been selected as the SCAC Women's Soccer
Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday,
November 1 through Sunday, November 7.
Loar carried Trinity to two crucial SCAC wins over the
weekend, securing the team’s spot in the playoffs and
clinching the 2010 SCAC Championship.
Loar opened the weekend with a pair of second-half goals
against DePauw, then scored again at Centre to lead Trinity to a
1-0 win. On Friday against DePauw, Loar tied
the game with just under 25 minutes to play, answering
DePauw’s opening goal just minutes earlier. Less than
seven minutes after her first score, Loar struck
again to put Trinity out in front for good. On Sunday,
Loar netted a first-half goal that proved to be
the difference in a winner-take-all game against
Centre.
Loar leads Trinity with 15 goals and 10 assists this
season, tying for ninth all-time at Trinity for single season
goals. She is also eighth in points for a single season at
Trinity, and tied for 12th for assists in one year.
