ABIGAIL LOAR
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore forward from
Littleton, Colo., has been selected as the SCAC Women's Soccer
Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday,
October 26 through Sunday, November 1.
Loar led the Tigers in scoring last weekend as
the team clinched its 14th overall SCAC Championship with a pair of
road wins.
In Friday’s game against Oglethorpe, Loar
scored her first career hat trick to lead Trinity to an 8-0 win.
She scored her first goal just 20 seconds into the game, then added
another in the 31st minute. Loar also scored the
first goal of the second half of the Tigers, giving her the
team’s first hat trick since the 2007 season.
On Sunday, Loar had a pair of second half goals
to put Trinity comfortably ahead in the win over Sewanee, clinching
the conference title.
For the season, Loar has scored 12 goals and
recorded four assists. Her game-winning goal on Friday was her
fifth this season.
