CHRISTINA
BYLER OF HENDRIX COLLEGE, senior forward from
Little Rock, Ark., has been named SCAC Co-Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, January 25 through
Sunday, January 31.
Byler led the Warriors to a pair of SCAC wins
this weekend averaging 20 points and 17 rebounds per contest.
Byler went off in Hendrix’s 83-66 win over
Sewanee on Sunday with a season high 28 points and 25 rebounds. She
set a new Hendrix single-game record with 25 boards and was just
three shy of tying the SCAC’s single-game mark set by
Jennifer Warren of Trinity (vs. Austin on 12/7/94).
Byler ended the affair 9-of-23 from the field
with 10 rebounds on the offensive end and 15 from the defensive
end. She also added a team-high 12 points and nine rebounds against
Oglethorpe on Friday night. Byler ranks fourth in
the league with 15.7 ppg and 8.4 rpg.
