KELSEY
KINGSTON OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a first-year
right-hander from Kingwood, Texas, has been selected the SCAC
Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 4
through Sunday, March 10.
Kingston earned the victory in both of
Southwestern’s wins over Schreiner last week, starting and
finishing both of them in impressive fashion.
In her two outings, Kingston allowed just two
earned runs in 14 innings pitched for an ERA of 1.00 for the week.
She struck out 20 batters and allowed just one walk.
Kingston started things off by throwing a complete game and struck out 10 while scattering just three hits and one earned run in a 6-1 win in game one.
Kingston then threw another complete game and struck out 10 in seven innings while scattering four hits and walked just one batter. For the week, she posted a 0.57 WHIP (Walks+Hits/Innings Pitched).
