SYDNEY FRIDAY OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior right-hander from Sugar Land, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 11 through Sunday, February 17.

Friday led the Tigers to a 1-1 record in her two starts to open the season, beating Texas Lutheran in the opener, then falling in a 1-0 shutout against Concordia (Texas).

Friday posted a 1.08 ERA in her two complete games, allowing just two earned runs in her 13 innings of work, and striking out six batters. She allowed just one earned run in her 2013 debut, recording four strikeouts to lead Trinity to its third straight win in season openers.

Last season, Friday led the Tigers with a 16-8 record and an ERA of just 1.39 in her 27 appearances. Friday struck out 98 batters and held opponents to a .212 batting average in her 156.1 innings pitched. She recorded nine shutouts among her 22 complete games in 2012.
