CAITLYNN DYKES OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a freshman catcher from Port Neches, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Softball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 2 through Sunday, April 8.
Dykes led Trinity to a 3-1 record at Austin College over the weekend, keeping the Tigers tied for first place in the SCAC West Division.
Dykes hit .571 (8-14) for the four games, scoring seven runs and driving home nine RBI. She hit a double and two home runs over the weekend, posting a slugging percentage of 1.071 for the week. In the second game of the series, Dykes paced the Tigers to a 7-5 win by cracking two home runs, and going 3-4 with three runs and five RBI overall. She followed that with a 3-4 performance, scoring two more runs and driving in three more in Saturday’s opener.
For the season, Dykes is second on the team
with a .455 batting average, going 40-88 at the plate. She has
scored 27 runs and driven in a team-best 37 RBI.
Dykes has six doubles, one triple, and a team-high
five home runs.
