Colorado College men win SCAC Cross Country Championship

CONYERS, Ga. - Behind the 2009 SCAC Men's Runner of the Year Jackson Brainerd's first-place finish, the Colorado College Tigers earned their second SCAC title in three years. Brainerd completed the 8K course with a time of 24:29.60 to set a new record at the conference championship.

Brainerd eclipsed the previous mark of 24:42.75 set by DePauw University's Jared Mann in 2005. Brainerd's teammates Daniel Kraft (24:58.10), Andrew Wagner (25:10.80) and Dave Wilder (25:15.60) also posted top-10 times by finishing fourth, ninth and 10th respectively.

Trinity University's Bryant Wright finished in second-place with a time of 24:37.60, which also bested the previous top time at the SCAC championship.

In all, the top-five finishers from this year all bested the previous second best time at the SCAC championship.
