WILSON LAMBETH OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from El Paso, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, April 1 through Sunday, April 7.
Lambeth extended his winning streak to nine games after going undefeated in singles play to lead the No. 11 Tigers to a split record against top-20 opponents over the weekend. Against No. 20 Gustavus, Lambeth won 6-3, 6-4 at line two over 24th-ranked Chase Johnson, the lone singles win in the 6-3 defeat. Lambeth moved up to line one against No. 13 Pomona-Pitzer where he took down 10th-ranked Jed Kronenberg 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Other Outstanding Performances:
Austin College sophomore Brett O’Brein went 2-0 at line two last week, toppoing opponents from Colorado College and Texas Lutheran in a 2-0 week for the Roos’. Freshman Max Pearson led Southwestern to a 3-0 record last week and was a triple-winner at lines four and five, defeating opponents from Colorado College, Texas Lutheran and Mary Hardin-Baylor.
