PHILLIP STEWART OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for competitions played through Tuesday, October 13.
Stewart earned the honor after finishing in a tie for second place at the Golfweek Fall Invitational. The tournament featured 15 of the top 25 teams in the nation, including seven of the top-10.
Stewart fired off identical rounds of 69 (-2) through the first two days, holding onto third place heading into Tuesday's competition. He ended the final day with a 74 (+3) to shoot a 54-hole mark of 212 (-1).
This was his best finish of the season and tied his career best finish. The third round was the first all season that he has shot above par.
The Mountaineers will compete next at the Alamo City Classic in San Antonio next week.
