JIMMY KEENER OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a senior from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Golfer of the Week for tournaments played through Tuesday, October 14.

Keener led the defending national champion Mountaineers to a seventh place team finish at the prestigious Golfweek Division III Fall Preview, which was contested over three days on the Raven Golf Club course in Sandestin, Fla.

Keener fired rounds of 76-71-69 for a three-day total of 216 which was tied for fifth among all individuals and just seven shots off the leaders. His final round 69 was the second-lowest round shot on Tuesday, only trailing his teammate and fellow senior Cheyne Kendall, who fired a final round 65, the lowest single day score of the tournament.

The event was the final one of the fall season for Schreiner, who does not tee it up again until February 16 at the Linda Lowery Invitational at the Falconhead Golf Club in Austin, Texas.
