NATHAN MALINOVSKY OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior pitcher from New Braunfels, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played through Sunday, April 1st. 

Malinovsky improved to 6-1 with eight innings of work in the 8-4 victory over #1 Trinity University.

Malinovsky had 12 strike outs against the Tigers, and scattered seven hits. He allowed four runs (two earned). Malinovsky posted a 13.50 k/9 average to go along with a 2.25 era.

For the season, Malinovsky leads the league with a 0.67 ERA, and is tied with teammate Dylan Drgac with a conference-best six wins. He is second in the SCAC with 57 strikeouts.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman pitcher Ryan Culp of Austin College picked up the first victory of his collegiate career against Dallas, throwing seven strong innings in a 7-6 win. Senior right-handed pitcher Kaleb Kirk of Centenary College threw his second complete game last week, not allowing a UT-Tyler runner past first over the final four innings of the game. Sophomore right-handed pitcher Austin Anderson of the University of Dallas threw five shutout innings and worked around three hits and a walk in his first collegiate win over Austin College. Sophomore right-handed pitcher Colton Hunter of Southwestern University earned the first complete game win of the season for the Pirates, allowing just two runs on eight hits in nine innings of work with five strikeouts. First-year right-handed pitcher Corey Cater of Trinity University tossed the final 3.2 innings of a win over Texas Lutheran without allowing a run, striking out six batters and giving up just three total hits.
