MATTHEW DEVILLIER OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a junior right-handed pitcher from Lake Charles, La., has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played through Sunday, March 25th.
Devillier tossed a complete game shutout for the Gents on Saturday to earn a 10-0 win over Schreiner University.
In the game, he allowed just three hits with five strikeouts and no Mountaineer advanced past second. At one point, Devillier retired 11-of-12 batters - the only one he did not retire reached on an error.
For the season, Devillier is 3-2 with a 2.18 earned run average, however he is 2-0 in conference play with an ERA of 0.69.

Senior pitcher Dylan Drgac of Texas Lutheran University tossed a complete-game, five-hit shutout to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 victory over University of Chicago Friday evening. Junior pitcher Jeff Lonnecker of Trinity University came on for 5.2 innings of relief work allowing just one earned run on four hits and striking out 10 batters to lead all pitchers.
