CHRISITIAN
MUSCARELLO OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore
infielder from Tucson, Ariz., has been named the SCAC Offensive
Baseball Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, February 13
through Sunday, February 19.
Muscarello led Trinity to a 4-1 record over the
past week, including a two-game SCAC weekend sweep against Hendrix.
For the weekend, Muscarello posted a .400 batting
average, going 8-20 at the plate. He scored six runs and drove in
10 more, accounting for nearly half of Trinity’s run total
for the five games.
Among his eight hits, Muscarello had a double and
three home runs for the week. He hit a walk-off home run in the
bottom of the 10th inning on Tuesday, completing Trinity’s
doubleheader sweep of Centenary.
In game one against the Gents, Muscarello went 4-4
with two runs and two RBI, giving him four RBI in the two games. In
the series finale against Hendrix, Muscarello
powered the Tigers to a 10-0 win by going 2-3 with two runs and
five RBI.
