CHRIS HAGUE OF SEWANEE-THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH, a junior runner from Kensington, Md., has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending September 20, 2009.
Hague, who paced the Sewanee men's cross
country team with an impressive ninth-place
finish at Saturday's Vanderbilt Invitational, collects
shoes for Soles 4 Souls at home cross-country and track meets. He
is also a sober driver for Bacchus, a shuttle system on campus
to transport folks that have been drinking in an effort to curb
drunk driving.
Academically, Hague is a member of the Guild of
Humanists, the Order of Gownsmen, Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society
and has consistently been on the Sewanee Dean's List.
In addition, Hague is an assistant proctor
for the Res Life office and also swims on the Sewanee Swimming and
Diving team.
The junior was granted a Canale Internship for service.
