CLAIBORNE
WILLIS OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a sophomore forward from
Brentwood, Tenn., have been selected as the SCAC Women's Soccer
Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday,
October 24 through Sunday, October 30.
Willis earned her first-ever career hat-trick in Centre's
3-0 victory over Oglethorpe. Willis scored her
first goal in the 16th-minute capitalizing off of a lost possession
inside the Petrel's 18-yd box. The second goal came off of a Centre
corner-attempt in the 50th-minute. The ball would be knocked down
inside the Petrel's penalty area and collected by
Willis who then dribbled past several Oglethorpe
defenders for the goal. Willis' final goal came in
the 73rd-minute off of a cross into the Petrel's goalbox. With
Willis' hat-trick, she now has a total of 8-points
on the season.
