ABBY LOAR OF
TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior forward from
Littleton, Colo., has been selected as the SCAC Women's Soccer
Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Thursday,
September 1 through Sunday, September 4.
Loar had a very productive start to the season, leading
the Tigers to three wins over the weekend– including a
double-overtime victory over defending National Champion and
top-ranked Hardin-Simmons.
Loar scored a total of three goals in the three games,
netting two game-winners. She also had three assists for the
weekend to finish with a total of 12 points.
Against #1 Hardin-Simmons, Loar scored two goals
to lead Trinity to the 3-2 win. She opened the game’s scoring
with a goal in the eighth minute, then finished off the game with a
double-overtime game-winner in the 103rd minute of play.
In Thursday’s season opener, Loar
didn’t score herself, but she did record three assists to
launch Trinity to an 8-0 win. She also added the game-winning goal
early in the game against Greenville on Monday afternoon.
