SCAC Places Four Men's Teams on USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released their Division III All-Academic Teams Thursday and four Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's cross country teams were honored.

To earn the honor, a team must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.1 or higher. There were 173 men's teams in total that reached this mark.

The University of Dallas men, led by head coach Matt Barber, posted a team GPA of 3.53 to lead the league. 

The Colorado College men, led by Head Coach Ted Casteneda, posted a team GPA of 3.45. Last season, they also earned the honors with a GPA of 3.314.

Texas Lutheran University and head coach Darlene Holland earned academic honors with a 3.29 GPA.

Trinity University's men's program, led by head coach Emily Daum, also earned the honor, holding a 3.11 GPA.

Colorado College also placed first-year undeclared major Peter Callan on the individual academic list. 

In total, 290 men nabbed All-Academic honors. To earn this distinction, the student-athletes must hold a GPA of 3.30 or higher and finish in the top 25 percent at their respective regional.
