Both the Trinity men's and DePauw men's 400 medley relay teams posted NCAA "B" cut times. The Texas Tigers mark broke the previous SCAC best of 3:27.32 set in 2001. The Indiana Tigers team of Steve Klabak, Matt Kukurugya, Brogan Runion and Johnn Montgomery earned "B" cut status by tallying a 3:27.74.

Other men's records set included DePauw's 200 free relay swimming an NCAA "B" cut and SCAC championship record 1:22.38. Josh Baugh, Montgomery, Klabak and John Cook beat last year's record by six tenths of a second. Trinity's Alex Miranda shattered his previous SCAC recod in the 500 free by posting a 4:34.04 ("B" cut), breaking his old mark by over 3.5 seconds. Finally, DePauw's Kukurugya swam a 1:54.35 ("B" cut) in the 200 IM to break teammate Baugh's record from last year.

Miranda continued a decade of dominance for Trinity swimmers in the 500 free. His win marked the 12th straight win for the Tigers, dating back to the first SCAC championship meet in 1999.

All told, the men's swimming competition produced a total of nine "B" cut times.

In women's action, three of the night's races were decided by 0.12 seconds or less including the 50 free. The 50 free saw DePauw junior Katie Massey (23:71) narrowly edge Centre College senior Meredith Angel (23.78) by 0.07 seonds. Both women posted "B" cut times, as well as Trinity first-year Ana Price (24.39). Angel just missed out on winning her fourth consecutive 50 free championship.

The other two races decided by 0.12 seconds or less was the 200 free relay (Centre - 1:36.43 over DePauw's 1:36.54) and the 400 medley relay. This time the 400 medley relay saw DePauw finish just ahead of Centre, 3:55.43 to 3:55.55 respectively. The Colonels' 200 free relay team of Angel, Colleen Maggard, Shannon Wofford, and Sadie Allen posted an SCAC championship record with their finish.

On the women's side, a total of one record and nine "B" cut times were achieved during the finals session Thursday night.
