KAYLYN LATIN OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a junior libero from Houston, Texas, has been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 14 through Sunday, October 20.

Latin finished a dig shy of an even 100 for the weekend as the Celts went 2-2 in SCAC conference play. She averaged 7.07 digs per set, including a 30 dig performance in a three-set sweep over Austin College for an average of 10 digs per set. Her 30 dig performance ties her for sixth most digs per set posted in a three set match in SCAC history. 

Other impressive performances in the SCAC: 
Sophomore Ali Grona of Southwestern led the Pirates in digs posting 75 an average of 5.36 per set, helping to hold opponents to a .136 hitting percentage. Senior Anna Gurolnick of Colorado College produced a season-best 22 digs for an average of 5.08 digs per set and three aces during the Tigers four-set win over Southwestern. Juior Avery Tuggle of Trinity led the Tigers finishing with a team-best 52 total digs, picking up a pair of double-doubles. Tuggle averaged 4.00 digs per set for the weekend. Senior Kelsi Menn of Texas Lutheran registered 18 total blocks over the weekend, along with the addition of 14 total kills and five total digs. Sophomore Mari Prazak of Austin College averaged 5.11 digs per set, adding four service aces and 10 assists. Prazak had double-digit dig totals in four of the 'Roos five matches, including 34 in a five set non-conference win over LeTourneau. Senior Marissa Sandoval of Centenary led the Ladies collecting 126 total digs in four matches averaging 7.88 digs per set over the weekend.
