Lexi Morris, Texas Lutheran University, Defensive Player of the Week (Week 5)

LEXI MORRIS OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a freshman libero from Victoria, Texas, has been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 23 through Sunday, September 29.

Morris posted her second-highest dig total of the season in a three-set win over St. Thomas. Her 26 digs in the victory, represents the highest dig total in a three-set-match in the SCAC this year. Morris also had 12 digs in a three-set road loss to Huston-Tillotson.   

Other impressive performances in the SCAC: 
Junior Annie Rose Leggett of Trinity led the Tigers in digs and digs per set for the second consecutive week. She recorded 29 digs throughout seven sets for an average of 4.14 digs per set. Leggett tallied 19 digs in the Tigers win over St. Thomas on Wednesday. Freshman Emma White of Southwestern produced 12 digs in each of the Pirates’ two matches. White totaled 24 digs throughout the seven sets averaging 3.43 digs per set. Junior Kaylyn Latin of St. Thomas recorded 71 total digs throughout the week for an average of 6.45 digs per set. Latin had two kills and 24 digs against No. 10-ranked Trinity, and then recorded 31 digs in the win over Centenary.
