ABBE HOLTZE OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior outside hitter from Manhattan Beach, Calif., has been named SCAC Volleyball Offensive Co-Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Tuesday, September 6th through Sunday, September 11th. 

Holtze was named the tournament MVP for the second week in a row after leading Colorado College to a 4-0 record and the tournament championship of the CC Invitational. Colorado College now boast an 8-0 record for the season.

Holtze led the team with 68 kills, 53 digs, 8 blocks and 3 service aces. Holtze averaged 17 kills and 13.25 digs a match.

Holtze began the week with 21 kills and 15 digs for her second double-double of the season in a 3-1 win over Occidental College, then hit a season-high 22 kills to lead the Tigers over Springfield College, while adding 8 digs on defense. She then began the second day of the tournament with team-bests of 9 kills, 12 digs, 4 blocks and 2 aces in a 3-0 sweep of Whitman. Holtze finished the tournament strong with a team-high 16 kills and added 18 digs on defense for her third double-double of the season against No. 14 Texas-Dallas. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior middle blocker Rebekah Bowden of Austin College was named to the AC Invitational All-Tournament team, averaging 2.23 kills with a .450 hitting percentage, and 1.46 blocks per set. Sophomore outside hitter Jamison Duck of Southwestern University was named to the All-Tournament Team with a perfect 12-0 set record. Senior outside hitter Kristin Fording of Texas Lutheran University averaged 4.53 kills per set and 3.27 digs per set with 68 total kills while leading the Bulldogs to a win in the TLU Bulldog Classic. Senior outside hitter Mairin Guilfoyle of the University of Dallas paced the Crusaders this week with 46 kills and finished the Austin College Invitational with a career-high 19 kills and 20.0 points in a five-set loss to McMurry.
