ERIKA EDRINGTON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior setter from Houston, Texas, has been named SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Tuesday, October 27th through Sunday, November 1st.

Edrington enjoyed another outstanding weekend, leading the Tigers to a 3-1 record at the Trinity National Invitational. Trinity's only defeat came against 19th-ranked UT-Dallas, while the final match was a 3-0 win over #18 La Verne on Saturday.

Edrington tallied 158 assists over the four matches, averaging 10.53/set. She also had 40 total digs (2.67/set) and nine blocks (0.60/set). Edrington began the tournament with 48 assists and nine digs in a win over Simpson, followed by 39 assists and 18 digs in the loss to UTD. She finished with weekend with two of her best performances, though, as the Tigers swept Mary Hardin-Baylor and La Verne.

In the UMHB match, Edrington finished with 39 assists in just three matches, averaging 13 assists per set, and adding six digs and three blocks. In the win over nationally-ranked La Verne, she had 32 assists (10.67/set) and seven digs.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior outside hitter Mairin Guilfoyle of Dallas surpassed double-digits in kills in three of the four matches this week. Sophomore middle blocker Rebekah Bowden of Austin College averaged 2.83 digs-per-set and increasing her SCAC best hitting percentage with a sizzling .478 percentage in six matches. Junior setter Nikki Welch of Southwestern University averaged just under 10 assists per set (9.90 per set) while adding in a team high five aces in three matches. Junior outside hitter Brette Threadgill of Texas Lutheran University hit .412 with 15 kills and just one error in 34 attempts as the Bulldogs swept a non-conference encounter with Concordia Texas.
