KAITLYN FOSTER OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior outside hitter from San Antonio, Texas, has been named SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Friday, September 18th through Saturday, September 19th.

Foster led Southwestern offensively to a 3-0 record, posting a team high 33 kills in just eight sets, averaging 4.12 per set and a .314 attack percentage. She added one ace and 29 digs with three blocks on the weekend. 

Southwestern faces St. Thomas on Wednesday, September 23rd. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior middle blocker Jaime Birzer of the University of Dallas posted team-highs in three of the four matches, as Dallas went 1-3 overall this week. Junior outside hitter Kristin Fording of Texas Lutheran University collected 14, 17 and 16 kills in the three matches at the SCAC Divisional, in which TLU went 2-1 and posted a key conference win over Trinity. Junior outside hitter Abbe Holtze of Colorado College led the team averaging a double-double with 13.3 kills and 12 digs in conference play. Sophomore outside hitter Kirby Smith of Trinity University tallied 32 kills and 32 digs for the Tiger volleyball team last weekend, as Trinity went 1-2 at the SCAC Divisional in Seguin, Texas. Junior middle blocker Presleigh Watson of Austin College averaged 2.7 kills with a .364 hitting percentage, topping the team in both categories.
