RACHEL FUSSELMAN OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior libero from Trophy Club, Texas has been named SCAC Volleyball Defenseive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Tuesday, September 22nd through Sunday, September 27th.
Fusselman continued her outstanding season, totaling 133 digs for an average of 6.33 digs per set in six matches last week. Fusselman topped 20 digs in four matches, including 33 in a win over Arlington Baptist. She also added 10 service aces for the week.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior defensive specialist Shannon Courtney of Trinity University finished with 70 total digs in the fourth matches, averaging 4.67 digs/set. Senior defensive specialist Megan Dugie of Texas Lutheran University averaged 6.13 sets per set and had a week-high 32 in a five-set win over University of Dallas. Junior libero Jessie Koster of the University of Dallas combined for 107 digs to anchor the Dallas defense. Senior defensive specialist Sophie Merrifield of Colorado College led the team with 67 digs, averaging 16.75 digs over four matches, and had three aces and two assists.
