HANNAH VARNELL OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior libero/defensive specialist from Clemmons, N.C., has been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 19 through Sunday, September 25.

Varnell led the team with 76 digs to average 4.75 digs per set during the week while adding five service aces and three assists over five games.  

Varnell had a team-high 10 digs along with two assists and an ace in a 3-0 win over Oglethorpe to open the 2011 conference season and  added a team-high 13 digs to finish the first day of conference action with a 3-0 victory over host Sewanee.
