EMILY PERKINS
OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior middle blocker from
Plano, Texas has been named SCAC Volleyball Player-of-the-Week for
matches played from Monday, October 18 through Sunday, October
24.
Perkins led the Tigers to a 4-0 record on the
week by averaging 3.3 kills/set, 3.6 digs/set and 1.21 blocks/set
while also hitting a solid .343 during the week. In two victories
over Occidental, Perkins hit .426 and averaged
3.57 kills, 3.57 digs and 1.57 blocks/set. She tallied her first
career triple-double with 11 kills, 10 blocks and 10 digs in
Friday’s sweep of Occidental.
Perkins also became just the second player in
the 32-year history of Colorado College volleyball to record 1,500
career kills and digs during the Tigers’ three-set victory of
Buena Vista, joining former teammate Anna Clithero (2005-08) as the
only members of the exclusive club.
