LILLY DUARTE OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Streetman, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Track Athlete-of-the-Week for meets conducted from Monday, March 4 through Sunday, March 10.
Duarte was the top NCAA D-III finisher in
both the 800 and the 1,500 at the Tarleton State Invitational (NCAA
D-II) this past Thursday.
She placed second in the 1,500 with a personal-best time of 4:51.93
and third in the 800 with a season-best time of 2:23.88.
Duarte is currently ranked first in the 1,500 and
third in the 800 on the SCAC Performance List.
She also ran the second leg on the SU Women's 4x400 meter relay
which was a season-best performance of 4:23.41 for the team. This
performance brought SU's 4x4 up to second on the SCAC Performance
List.
