LIZZIE WRIGHT
OF RHODES COLLEGE, a senior defender from Needham,
Mass., has been named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive
Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 27
through Sunday, November 2.
Wright helped lead the Lynx to their 10th and 11th
shutout victories of the season with wins over University of Dallas
(2-0) and Austin College (3-0).
Against Dallas on Friday, the Lynx did not allow a single
legitimate shot and against Austin, not only did
Wright help keep the Roos off the scoreboard, she
ripped a left footed shot past the Austin keeper from 30 yards out
to notch the Lynx' third goal of the game.
Wright and the Lynx defense have allowed only
three goals in conference play and have shut out seven of their
eight SCAC opponents this season.
